Piuma - The Aftermath
Dear members,
I don't know about you, but I'm only now beginning to recover from yesterday's thrashing on Piuma. Thankfully, many of you managed to recover much quickly than me and have already posted some great content from the hill climb. This is by no means exhaustive, but here are some contributions from your fellow members following the event.
And speaking of contributions, thank you Marco Fantone for organizing the hill climb, Rich Hirschinger for organizing the post-race picnic and Rick Friedman for providing the great food at the picnic. Also, a huge thanks to Louis Bianco, Heather Baroff, Edgar Burksen, Jerry Cipriano, Jan Datomi, Colin Rasor, Jay Slater, Erik Strauss, Frank Whitlock, Don Witzel and Caleb Yang for volunteering their time to help make yesterday such a great success.
We also appreciate our sponsors Helen's Cycles for setting up camp at the top alongside the Michelob Ultra La Grange Sprinter Van and providing hydration and nutrition for our racers. Helen's and Cannondale also donated some great prizes for our raffle at the picnic. And of course member Sean O'Donnell for serving on a charitable foundation as a trustee and delivering the club a $5,000 donation at the picnic!

Bike lawyer and La Grange sponsor Seth Davidson somehow not only finished Top 10 on the day, but then rode his bike back to Palos Verdes from the picnic and had this blog entry posted the very same evening.
David Holland posted this video of the race. You can hear me right at the 0:40 mark saying "I know my place. It's not up there." And it sure wasn't.
Dan Funk posted his own video of the race. Dan put in a super fast time so don't feel bad if you are nowhere to be seen in his video.
Palle Jensen asked racers about their sensations after the race. No really, he did.
