Race Team Agreement
While any member of Velo Club La Grange (VCLG) may race and participate in club events, the La Grange Race Team (RaceTeam) provides additional support and opportunities to its members in the form of logistical and financial support, race clinics, camps, and other team events. In order to be a member of the race team, riders are required to abide by the following agreement.
I agree to promote VCLG, its sponsors, and the sport of cycling.
I will actively participate in RaceTeam events throughout the current calendar year.
I will wear the official VCLG kit while competing for or promoting the RaceTeam.
I understand that VCLG has worked hard to develop relationships with our sponsors. I will respect the rules and requirements of these sponsors as each one outlines them.
I understand that I may receive free or discounted services/items through the RaceTeam and that these are conditional upon promoting the sponsor accordingly. If I fail to do so, I will be responsible for either returning or purchasing the item in question.
Regardless of the situation, I will always act in a respectful manner to my teammates, other racers, coaches, officials, and race organizers.
I will complete at least one significant volunteer role for VCLG during the year (e.g. driving the van and setting up Fort La Grange for one of the targeted races, volunteering to help run LG Cup events, and volunteering to help organize or run other club events throughout the year).
I will complete a minimum of 4 hours of cycling Community Service OUTSIDE of La Grange. (see examples below)
I will adhere to the World-Anti Doping Association and US Anti-Doping Association rules and guidelines.
My membership with VCLG will be in good standing and current during my time as a member of the RaceTeam.
Members may be removed from the RaceTeam at the discretion of the Team Captains if the rider is believed to pose a health or safety hazard to him or herself, or represents themselves or the team in a manner inconsistent with the team values.
** Community Service:
Community Service could include but is not limited to: assisting in one of VCLG's community efforts, assisting with a skills or racing clinic, providing graphic design, social media, marketing, or development work to a community partner, connecting with bike MS or AIDS/LifeCycle, or creating some training routes. You can also come up with your own community service. We are all one community. Be part of it.
Contact your captains beforehand if you have something you’d like to do for community service!
