Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful and hang out with family and friends. It’s also time for the annual La Grange Meals-On-Wheels Thanksgiving Day Ride. For 17 years, Velo Club La Grange has raised money for the West Los Angeles chapter of Meal-On-Wheels, a national organization dedicated to addressing Senior hunger and isolation in local communities. Serving over 40,000 meals per year to seniors and the disabled, Meals On Wheels-WLA is also serving homeless veterans at the sprawling West LA VA Campus.
To make this year’s event bigger and better than ever, we are also pleased to announce we are partnering with the popular South Bay Yellow Vase ride. This ride is always friendly and social and we are thankful to have them join us for such a worthy cause.
As usual, we will leave from Peet’s in Brentwood at 8am and roll down to Redondo Beach and enjoy complimentary coffee and treats (homemade cinnamon rolls, anyone?) from our friends at Catalina Coffee Company. Hammerheads are welcome to add the Golf Course Loop. Those doing the Yellow Vase Ride will start from the Marina Bridge at 8am SHARP and are welcome to join us for coffee at any time.
Donations can be made at both starting points as well as at Catalina Coffee. Any amount is welcome and appreciated. Cash and checks are both accepted in person. Credit card donations will be accepted at Peet’s only or online. Online donations can be made through PayPal at paypal@lagrange.org. Put “Meals-on-Wheels” in the note section. All donations are tax-deductible.
